It’s hard to meet personal development goals in Las Vegas.
Here are the daily goals I didn’t meet:
- No meditation.
- No sketches or other artwork done.
- Ate about 3045 calories (best guess) instead of the planned 2500.
So now it’s time for some mitigating circumstances (rationalizations in other words)… I was driving for 5 hours, the food here is really good, pressing client work ate my morning, etc…
Now, for the reality check…
- I could have easily spared 10 minutes at any time for meditation.
- I could have spared 10-15 minutes to do some quick sketches.
- I should have expected to eat a lot of calories at dinner and had less to eat during the day.
I’m not going to beat myself up over the calorie thing, in fact I’m happy that I was able to do as well as I did. Controlling what you eat while traveling is hard because you probably aren’t eating at restaurants that distribute nutritional information and you’re not cooking for yourself either. While I did go over my limit, every bite was excellent and I ate to satisfaction, not bloated fullness.
I had 3 adult beverages, so I’ve got one left for the next 24 days.
Oddly, limiting beef has been easy. Normally I eat a lot of beef, but I haven’t craved it at all.
