Only 9 days to go!
Status on goals:
- Get up before 9am: Going great. Next month it will be 8am 6 days a week.
- Do at least 1 significant task to create passive income: Coming along, but not as quickly as it should. It’s too easy to let client work and other stuff get in the way of building long term value.
- Exercise daily: Better now that I can walk. I’m back to hiking local hills, pushups, and situps.
- Meditate Daily: Yesterday I tried focusing on a candle and my breathing. It worked okay until my eyes got tired and I started to tear up. Today’s session was excellent. Eyes closed, focused on breath, fewer intrusions from the “monkey mind“.
- Daily drawing or artwork: I had planned this to be something like doing an exercise from Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain every day, but those are really time consuming. Instead I usually end up drawing ideas for toy characters for about 30 minutes. No bad feelings about this, it’s probably better right now to work on designs with more immediate pay off.
- Blog daily: Great. I’ve only missed one day so far.
- Eat less than 2500 calories a day: Also great. Today I was down from 248 to 240lbs. I stopped feeling the missing calories at about day 8. I love not feeling overfed, over sugared, and over beefed. Instead of eating when the clock tells me to I eat when I’m hungry.
- Give up beef this month: I don’t miss beef at all. This is surprising to me. I haven’t even thought of using my 2 free phở passes.
- No more than 4 servings of alcohol this month: Don’t miss it, though I haven’t been in “party mode” in a while.
You can see my progress over time on my Making the Chain page. Not bad at all. The only significant gaps were due to travel or injury.
Tomorrow I plan to complete all active goals like exercise, meditation, blogging, and passive income before noon. We’ll see how that goes.
