I need help with my workout mix

rocky-statue.jpg

It’s hard for me to round out a workout mix because all my music is either jazz or songs about being English and depressed.

So far I’ve got…

  1. M1 A1 :: Gorillaz – Best ramp up ever thanks to an extended sample from Day of the Dead (scrub the clip to 3:30).
  2. Gonna Fly Now, aka “Theme from Rocky” (natch) :: Bill Conti – The Rocky II soundtrack version has an awesome guitar solo.
  3. Eye of the Tiger :: Survivorsuper-natch.
  4. Cream and Bastards Rise :: Harvey Danger – Did you know you can get this whole album legit and free?
  5. M.O.R. :: Blur – Graham Coxon is the best.
  6. I Believe in a Thing Called Love :: The Darkness – F-YEAH! When I get tired The Darkness pulls out all the stops.
  7. Steam :: Peter Gabriel
  8. Girlfriend :: Matthew SweetBest video ever.
  9. Canned Heat :: Jamiroquai

Clearly 9 songs aren’t enough to prevent mix burnout. I need more tracks no matter how cheesy (in fact, songs that have appeared in montages are preferable). So dear reader, what pumps you up?

    Awesome, good suggestions all.

    Special thanks to Shiman: I got addicted to track 18 in one listen. You can’t go wrong sampling Gary Numan.

    Bootieusa.com. YES.

    You should add I Still Remember by Bloc Party. I always pick up the pace when that song comes on during my workout.
